Flaky Buttery Pie Crust for Pies and Tarts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (1 stick)*
  • cold water
  • pinch of salt
  1. Cut the butter into the flour until it’s the size of peas.
  2. Then with a fork, stir in a couple of tablespoons of ice water, just until it comes together into a ball.
  3. Next shape it into a disk. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes. At this point, you could freeze the dough to use at a later time.
  4. Roll out the dough.
