How to cook beans in an electric pressure cooker
  • 1lb dried heirloom beans
  • Water
  • 1 slice of onion
  1. Rinse beans and check for any stones or debris. Add beans to pressure cooker and cover about an inch with water. If you are not using heirloom beans, you may want to use another liquid like chicken or vegetable stock to add more flavor. You can keep them plain or add a slice of onion, celery, garlic, and/or carrot. Set the pressure cooker to high. Cook for 40 minutes. (The amount of time depends on the type of bean. You may have to test it and cook it longer.) Be careful to release the steam - use product as directed.
