Green Chili Cheeseburgers with Pretzel Buns
  1. Season both sides of your hamburger patties with salt and pepper.
  2. Preheat your grill to at least 450° F. When the grill is hot, add hamburger patties. Cook 4-5 minutes, depending on your desired level of doneness, and then flip the burgers using a metal spatula. The burgers should release from the grill easily.
  3. Place 1-2 slices of cheese on top of the burgers and continue to cook, 3-5 minutes, until desired doneness is reached. 160° F is the official USDA recommendation for ground beef.
  4. When the burgers are almost finished, put the buns cut-side down on the grill to toast. Watch carefully to make sure they don’t burn.
  5. To assemble your burgers, put the hamburger patty with melted cheese on the bun, and top with 1-2 tablespoons of diced green chilis. Top each burger with the top bun and serve.
