During our recent visit to Lisbon, we chose to stay at the Valverde Hotel Lisboa in the heart of Portugal’s capital. The property is the only Relais & Château hotel in Lisbon, a testament to its commitment to its culinary excellence and world-class service.
Located in Lisbon’s busy luxury shopping district, Valverde offers unmatched convenience. There are tons of hills in Lisbon, however, you’ll find luxury boutiques like Gucci, Dior, and Vilebrequin, as well as numerous restaurants and bars just steps from the hotel. You can take an easy stroll down to the water and back. Rooms are spacious and clean with a new wing offering comfortable rooms with clean lines and rooftop views.
When you need a retreat from the city (or the hills), you’ll want to head to the hotel’s intimate pool. It feels like a personal oasis overlooking the lush green outdoor space. This pool is the perfect size for a refreshing dip, or have lunch here away from the crowds.
Be sure to make a reservation for dinner at Sítio Valverde. The restaurant is designed with a contemporary feel and lots of wood. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic seafood-focused dish or a modern twist that challenges the palate, Sítio Valverde promises an exquisite experience.
The hotel’s bar serves fantastic cocktails. If it’s a nice day, sit on the patio and sip cocktails under the green palms. We highly recommend the duck croquettes along with your cocktail. The outdoor space was one of our favorite places to relax after a busy day in the city.
In Lisbon, Valverde Hotel isn’t just a place to stay—it’s where you want to be when you’re in Lisbon. Skip the hotels with tiny rooms and the Airbnbs at the heart of the city’s housing crisis and head to this exquisite property in the heart of Lisbon.
