Sarah’s family is Italian, so panettone is a Christmas tradition in our house.
It’s no secret that we are huge fans of Rustichella d’Abruzzo pasta, so when we saw Rustichella d’Abruzzo panettone at Bi-Rite, we asked our friend Giacomo, who handles social media for the brand, which panettone he recommended. He said that the fig and chocolate was his favorite. He wasn’t wrong!
We had it with coffee for Sarah’s birthday breakfast this morning. The panettone is light and airy, definitely the best we’ve ever had. The dried figs and chocolate are delicious. If you are in the Bay Area, grab one at Bi-Rite before they sell out (reserve one via Instacart). They do sell out. We learned the hard way last year, when we watched sadly as someone took the last one off the shelf. If you’re not in the area, you can purchase one on Amazon.
