Inside the Valverde Hotel Lisboa, you’ll find the restaurant Sítio Valverde. The modern decor is very striking. You feel it immediately upon entering the sleek, minimalist space with lots of wood and big glass windows. It’s reminiscent of a Japanese restaurant, however, the menu is focused on local dishes with some modern twists.
For us, the beetroot tartare stood out instantly. A classic dish, reimagined. Instead of meat, they used beetroot. Earthy, sweet, and perfectly textured, this dish wowed from the first bite.
But the surprises didn’t end there. We also tasted their classic rice and lobster dish. Inspired by the traditional Portuguese rice dishes, the flavors were deep, rich, and unmistakably fresh. You could taste the ocean and sense the tradition. Every bite echoed Lisbon’s love for seafood.
We concluded dinner with a fresh seasonal strawberry dessert. The service and wine were top-notch. The staff attends to every detail, ensuring perfection. From the presentation to the timing, they get it right. You feel valued, not rushed, but attentive.
