Go to Lilly’s Taqueria for authentic tacos in Santa Barbara. This no-frills, inexpensive taqueria has a wide selection of fillings for only $2 a taco. It’s not in a touristy area (it’s out of the way near the highway) and there is no table service. You order your tacos, they come right up, and you find a seat.
Served on grilled or steamed corn tortillas, you’ll find everything from asada (beef), adobada (pork), and fajitas de pollo (chicken) to cachete (beef cheek), cabeza (beef head), or ojo (beef eye) which is a delicacy. We stuck to the asada and adobada, but you can find something for everyone if you want to try something different.
