We’ve stayed at the Baccarat Hotel in New York several times, but on our last visit, we were especially excited to experience the Spa de La Mer on the lower floor of this ultra-luxury midtown hotel. The Baccarat Spa De La Mer was the first La Mer spa to open in the United States. Before your treatments, you can relax poolside and have cocktails or flutes of Champagne sent down to enjoy poolside.
If you’re looking for a luxury experience with premium products, the La Mer Spa is the place for you. La Mer fans will enjoy indulging in the vast array of luxurious creams and anti-aging serums, and francophiles will be pleased by the spectacular location in this bastion of French luxury, filled with Baccarat crystal, Christofle silver, and red velvet.
My treatment room wasn’t the average plain dark room. There was a Baccarat sconce, and seaweed whimsically painted on the walls.
For the ultimate La Mer facial, you’ll want to choose the Miracle Broth Facial. A 90-minute experience with multiple layers of serums, creams, and ultimately the famous Miracle Broth, which cell-renewing elixir made of fermented sea kelp and other pure ingredients.
The spa is small but luxurious. There’s a lovely locker room with showers, and you can relax post-treatment by the quiet pool in luxurious daybeds. This isn’t a full-day spa with all of the amenities and a gym, but it’s perfect for those who genuinely appreciate La Mer products and want a glamorous experience while indulging in some of the best skincare treatments available.
