The Hunt Has Arrived: Where To Eat La Chasse

La Chasse est arrivée! It’s game season in Switzerland, and « la chasse » is French for the hunt. All over French-speaking Switzerland, you’ll see signs, menus, and banners to announce that the chasse has arrived. Depending on where you are and how hard you hunt, you can find venison, boar, pheasant, elk, and wild mushrooms.

It’s not always local (a lot of venison comes from Austria and we’ve seen elk from Sweden), but you can often find a few gems where the menu depends on what the local hunters bring to the restaurant to sell. A few of our favorite places to enjoy the chasse season in Switzerland include:
