On a late night, we stopped into one of Milan’s newer restaurants, DeRos. We had cocktails first at the Bulgari Hotel, and then walked around the corner for dinner at this Brera restaurant. The decor was fashionable (it’s Milan after all!) with vibrant velvet blue chairs and only Italians eating inside. Hearing not a word of English, we knew this was the place to eat! The menu offering fresh fish, pastas, steaks, and amazing wines. We started with orecchiette with shrimp and spaghetti with uni.
For our main course, we had sliced steak with arugula and shaved Parmesan, a simple but amazing dish we’ve recreated several times at home since. Of course, the owner paired this with a bottle of red wine from Piedmont, which was perfect. We finished with a slice of rum baba from Napoli.
If you’re heading to Milan, we highly recommend making a reservation at De Ros. We know we’ll be back!
