I think one of the best places in Paris for oysters is this little bar in Saint-Germain.
We recently went to Huitrerie Régis for lunch with our friend Katrina. It was a warm, sunny fall day, so we sat outside on the terrace and ordered a bottle or two of crisp white wine and a giant platter of oysters, clams, and crevettes (shrimp). It was the perfect Parisian lunch, with a side of plenty of people watching.

The day we went, it was easy to get a reservation. There were still lots of seats outside and a few tables inside, but you definitely want to reserve a table ahead of time. It’s mostly a one-man show, with a shucker behind the counter and at most one or two servers. In addition to oysters, you can get a variety of clams, as well as giant juicy shrimp — perfect to plunge into a cup of homemade mayonnaise or aioli.

We were focused on practicing our French, but the team also speaks English and was friendlier than you would expect in Paris, so don’t be intimidated. The small menu changes according to what is available at the market, and their oysters are shucked beautifully!
