Villa Borghese is located in the most beautiful parks in Rome, situated in one of Rome’s classiest neighborhoods. The villa houses the Galleria Borghese, a small but impressive collection of works by Bernini and Caravaggio including the famous Bernini statues of Apollo and Daphne and the Rape of Persephone. It does not take long to work your way through the museum, but ticket reservations are required and it is also mandatory to check coats and bags (we were surprised this applies even to purses).
If you plan to visit, we suggest booking tickets in the afternoon so that you can enjoy the museum and gardens, then head to one of the nearby hotels like Hotel Eden or the rooftop of Hotel De La Ville for a sunset apertivo overlooking the city.
