On our last trip to Paris, we stumbled upon the French fashion designer Thierry Mugler’s Couturissime exhibit across from the Cartier exhibit in the Musée des Arts Décoratifs. As you may have heard, Mugler passed away today, so we wanted to share some photos from our unexpected recent visit.
Mugler created iconic designs beginning in the 1970s and became highly popular in the 80s and 90s with Tyra Banks, Cindy Crawford, and Madonna wearing his creations. He also designed and directed George Michael’s “Too Funky” music video.
More recently, he’s dressed celebrities like Lady Gaga, Cardi B, Kim Kardashian, and Beyonce. As you scroll through the images below, you’ll see his unique style and bold collection. He’s also known for his fragrance collection by the same name.
The collection is on display in Paris until April 24, 2022. It’s an all-sensory experience including Mugler’s haute couture, costumes, photographs, videos, and scents. You can order your tickets online.
