We recently had the pleasure of staying at Château Voltaire in the heart of Paris, a boutique hotel that blends Parisian elegance with modern luxury. Conveniently located on Rue Saint-Roch, the hotel is ideally situated between the Opéra Garnier and the Tuileries Garden, placing guests within walking distance of lots of iconic landmarks like the Louvre and Musée d’Orsay, as well as some of the French capital’s best shopping.

The hotel’s design reflects its rich history and features a blend of old and new, exuding a timeless charm with warm beige walls, vintage modernist furniture, and medieval tapestries. The lobby, with its inviting fireplace, offers a cozy retreat from the busy city and is the perfect place to drop your bags and take a break from shopping or sightseeing.

Our evenings began at La Coquille d’Or, the hotel’s chic bar, where skilled bartenders craft delicious cocktails in a dark, intimate setting. The ambiance, reminiscent of ancient Parisian salons, made it a perfect spot to unwind before dinner.

Dining at Brasserie L’Émil was a highlight of our stay. The romantic, candlelit bistro offers a menu that puts a modern spin on classic French cuisine. We particularly enjoyed the carpaccio of sea bass, a citrusy dish that accented the freshness of its ingredients, and the filet of beef accompanied by perfectly crisp frites — and of course a nice bottle of Bordeaux.

A unique feature of Château Voltaire is its spa and wellness area located in the basement. This serene space offers a heated pool and a sauna, both available for private reservation. After a day exploring Paris, relaxing in this secluded spa was an exquisite experience and it was especially luxurious not to have to share the spa facilities with other guests.
Chateau Voltaire is owned by Thierry Gillier, founder of the fashion brand Zadig & Voltaire. This influence permeates the hotel’s aesthetic, blending contemporary design with classic Parisian elements.
For travelers seeking a stylish and centrally located retreat in Paris, Château Voltaire offers an experience that effortlessly marries modern luxury with the French heritage.
Other hotels could also take notes from Chateau Voltaire’s service. As an example, the hotel emailed us several weeks after our stay as they were going through their lost and found to let us know that they had recovered one of our son’s toys in our room. They kindly offered to ship it or keep it for pickup. Since we’re in the area frequently we quickly recovered it, but that’s just an example of their attentive service.
