We were so excited to visit CUESA’s pop-up farmer’s market in SOMA at The Yard Mission Rock last month. We normally go to the Saturday market at the Ferry Plaza but if we don’t get up early enough, all bets are off. There are so many tourists that funnel into the market that you can barely move. It’s not a neighborhood experience.
This is exactly what we were looking for. Fantastic vendors who you can actually get to know. The choices of peppers were fantastic and the strawberries were so good we were eating them out of the box on the way home!
Dirty Girl Produce had a wonderful selection of vegetables including early girl tomatoes. We purchased a box of tomatoes and canned them at home for the winter.
We loved finding amazing gifts like braided garlic, lavender, and roosters. Check out our earlier post on their rooster project!
This week is the Harvest Festival where Three Bakes Bakeshop will host a demo, a fruit pie contest, and you can even apple cider pressing with heirloom apples from Frutilicious Farm!
If you live in the neighborhood, check it out and support your local farmer’s market! If it’s a success they may continue the market next year! So grab a coffee and check it out!
