The Avalon Hotel in Palm Springs is close enough to downtown to be convenient, but just far enough away to still feel like a true retreat. We heard that their new restaurant, Chi Chi, was one of the best brunches in Palm Springs and after our recent visit, we agree!
Chi Chi focuses on healthy, California-inspired dishes like giant Acai Bowls, Ahi Tuna Poke, and Crab and Avocado Toast. They also offer an assortment of wellness beverages like the turmeric latte and the Revive, made with kale, mint, ginger, celery, apple, and turmeric. There are definitely some more indulgent items on the menu, like a Croque Madame, Waffles with Bone Marrow Butter, and “Chi Chi Quiles,” but we stuck to the fresh, healthier items they are known for and we don’t feel like we missed out at all. In fact, just writing this post reminds us that Crab and Avocado Toast needs to become a staple in our house.
Chi Chi is also home to the best Margarita we had in Palm Springs, so we’d highly recommend heading over for brunch, or for cocktails at their bar in the afternoon. Chi Chi has both indoor and outdoor seating, but we’d highly recommend sitting outside next to their beautiful pool.
Along with Holiday House, the Avalon Hotel is on our short list for a return trip back to Palm Springs. Even if we don’t stay at the Avalon, you can bet Chi Chi will be our first brunch spot every time!
