Look no further than Gott’s Roadside for amazing burgers, fish tacos, and shakes. This is one of our go-to places for a quick bite to eat, with locations in San Francisco’s Ferry Building, Napa’s Oxbow Public Market, Palo Alto (across from Stanford University), and the original location on Highway 29 in St. Helena. We’ve visited all the locations except the original because it’s perpetually crowded (it appears to be a popular place for limos full of people to pull in and stop for lunch).
What’s great about Gott’s? They use locally sourced ingredients and have awesome garlic fries! Our first Gott’s experience was on a trip to Napa. We came for a week, and one night we just wanted something close to our hotel that wasn’t a big dining out experience. We lucked out when we walked in and saw they had ahi tuna tacos, burgers, wine, beer, and Three-Twins shakes.
All the locations have great outdoor spaces, and if you go to the San Francisco location you can get soft serve made with Straus milk! When we lived in Silicon Valley, the Palo Alto Gott’s was our go-to comfort food from the north.
It’s not fast food, so plan on 10-15 minutes to get your food but it’s worth the wait, especially for the Niman Ranch green chili cheeseburger!
