If you’re looking for really good traditional Burgundian cuisine like gougères, Bresse chicken, or escargots, this is the restaurant for you. Located in a petit hotel near the wine road of Burgundy, just drive a few minutes north from Beaune. When you enter the hotel, you’ll be greeted by a magnificent stone fireplace.
In the fall and winter, it will be crackling away. Just beyond that is the bistro, a casual restaurant with really good food. Our first visit was just after Christmas, and we returned again during harvest. Both were delicious lunches.

Bistro Lucien at La Rotisserie du Chambertin offers two set menus for lunch or a la carte options. In the winter, we had a holiday menu including the Bresse chicken cooked with cream and morels. On our last trip, we tasted the escargots, bubbling in a generous amount of butter and garlic sauce, as well as the tomato salad with fried goat cheese. The homemade gnocchi was pan-fried to perfection and we love the hearty sausage filled with cabbage and comte cheese.
