Located just steps from Zurich’s most fashionable shopping district and the shores of Lake Zurich, the Park Hyatt Zurich hotel is a design aficionado’s dream. The sleek, contemporary hotel is one of the most luxurious in Switzerland, and is the perfect base for exploring the town, or to start your Alpine vacation.
We visited during the holiday season, when the halls of the large, airy hotel lobby were adorned with decorations from Gubelin, one of Switzerland’s renowned luxury jewelers. The huge, open fireplace is impressive year-round but is particularly inviting during the winter. It’s the ideal place to warm up with a glass of Champagne after a day of shopping the world-famous Bahnhofstrasse or exploring Zurich’s largest Christmas Market outside the opera house, both less than a ten-minute walk away. The hotel’s location is also perfect for a morning run along the beautiful shores of Lake Zurich.
The Park Hyatt Zurich hotel rooms offer all of the modern amenities you’d expect from a world-class hotel catering to business travelers, including fast wi-fi, Nespresso machines, well-stocked minibars, incredibly comfortable beds, a spacious and contemporary layout, and luxurious Le Labo bath products. We stayed in an expansive Park Corner suite, with its own separate living and working area, and an enormous modern, light-filled bathroom with louvered frosted glass panels for privacy.
Zurich is known for a lot of things, and dining options are not one of them, so having an exceptional restaurant on site is a huge plus. The Park Hyatt’s Parkhuus restaurant serves a luxurious breakfast spread every morning, with fresh juices, gorgeous pastries, and lots of Swiss charcuterie and cheeses. In the evening, it serves sophisticated Swiss fine dining fare prepared over an open fire. It’s expansive, multi-story glass wine cellar is particularly impressive — and is available to book for private events.
On the weekends, the Park Hyatt’s Onyx bar is one of the livelier nightlife spots in town, with classy cocktails and a DJ. Be sure to try a signature cocktail with their own Onyx gin, which is barrel-aged especially for the hotel.
When you visit the Park Hyatt Zurich, don’t miss the collection of modern art in the lobby, which makes the space feel as much like a museum as a luxury hotel. Abstract paintings, sculptures, and modern furniture by Le Corbusier bring a MoMA-like quality to the space and remind you that you’re in the center of Switzerland’s largest and most sophisticated city.
The Park Hyatt Zurich was an excellent place to recover from jet lag and start to explore Switzerland. Thank you to the Park Hyatt for hosting us in the most luxurious suite in Zurich!
