Moscow Mules are one of our favorite refreshing cocktails any time of year, but in the summer we love to spice them up with green chili infused vodka. The combination of chilis, ginger, and lime reminds us of some of our favorite Thai foods.
You can buy green chili vodka or you can make your own infused vodka at home. It’s actually pretty easy. Just thinly slice a few of your favorite green chilis (jalapeno, serrano, Thai, etc.) and drop the slices into a bottle of vodka to infuse. Depending on the strength of the pepper, this could happen really quickly, so strain them out when it has just the right amount of heat. We’ve done this with habanero and tequila before and it took about 20 minutes!
Mules are traditionally served in copper mugs, so we decided it was only appropriate to keep with tradition.
- 2 oz green chili vodka
- 1 lime, juiced
- ginger beer
- lime for garnish
- Start with a copper mug filled with crushed ice.
- Add the vodka and lime juice.
- Top with ginger beer.
- Garnish with lime wedges or wheels.
