Napoli normally brings to mind pizza, fried street food, and sfogliatelle. People usually come here for more traditional and rustic restaurants, however, there are fine dining options throughout the city as well. The modern Romeo Hotel in Napoli has two such restaurants, Beluga and Il Comandante, the latter holding a Michelin star. Il Comandante is currently getting a full facelift to reopen fall of 2022.
We stayed at Romeo Hotel this summer so we dined in Beluga but we were fortunate to try many of the dishes from Il Comandante by Salvatore Bianco.
The restaurant will feature fantastic seafood-centric dishes like lobster gnocchi, and a beautiful delicate squid that’s scored, quickly seared, and elegantly presented. The cuisine pairs well with the white wines typical of Campania, so we strongly suggest trying those rather than choosing from the more famous labels you can also find on the hotels’ list.
