If you’re looking for the best pastries in the Swiss Alps, you need to check out Gässli Beck GmbH in Habkern. Located just 15 minutes from downtown Interlaken, this hidden gem bakery is set in a small local convenience shop in the mountains above Interlaken with a small bakery. They make some of the best streusels! If you’re looking for a warm pastry on a cold day, Habkern is definitely worth a visit.
You’ll find a selection of delicious treats made fresh with local ingredients. In particular, I recommend trying their hazelnut croissant—you can even find a similar recipe in Meredith Erickson’s Alpine Cooking. They also make an amazing apple streusel made with fresh apples and their vanilla pastry is delicious. They also sell local cheeses. After ordering something sweet to eat, grab a chair outside and enjoy your treat with a cup of coffee in the morning sunshine.
All in all, if you are looking for something special during your time in the Swiss Alps then be sure to check out Habkern Bakery. With its stunning views and delectable pastries made with local ingredients, this hidden gem of a bakery is worth seeking out even if it’s just for one incredible streusel or croissant!
