Situated in the heart of Cotignac, a quaint village in Provence, Lou Calen offers an inviting retreat for travelers in Provence. With the Mediterranean Sea, ski resorts, and lakes only an hour away, the property serves as a perfect base for exploring Southern France’s diverse landscapes and delicious cuisine.
The owner’s dedication to making Lou Calen exceptional shines throughout the property. The heated pool provides a relaxing space to unwind, and the soon-to-come family and children’s pool will cater to guests of all ages. Currently, the owner is developing new suites, a pastis bar, and a new restaurant to enhance the overall experience.
During our stay, we dined at the Jardin Secret, Lou Calen’s restaurant, which recently received a green Michelin star. Featuring a set menu made from local and seasonal ingredients, the Secret Garden boasts a comfortable living room-style setting where guests can enjoy a delicious meal in a charming Provençal retreat.
The verdant grounds of Lou Calen are home to a charming garden, as well as sheep and chickens. Our accommodations in the main house included two rooms, a wood-burning fireplace, and a terrace with a view of the surrounding landscape. Each morning, we enjoyed a simple breakfast of berries, yogurt, and pastries, along with eggs from the resident chickens upon request.
With its serene atmosphere and convenient location, Lou Calen offers an ideal setting for a romantic getaway or a family vacation. The combination of natural beauty, comfortable accommodations, and the green Michelin star-winning cuisine makes it a worthwhile destination for anyone visiting Provence.
