We like finding restaurants that use local products. La Terrasse at the Victoria-Jungfrau Hotel & Spa is as local as you can get in Interlaken. It feels like a restaurant in the south of France. It’s the ultimate fine dining restaurant in Interlaken. Chef Steven Beers works with several local producers to create a menu using ingredients from a 40-kilometer radius. His suppliers include “the truffle lady,” local caviar and cheese producers, and local farmers. The hotel also has its own culinary garden and produces its own honey.
Dinner at La Terrasse is a truly memorable experience. We loved the vintage silver cloche and trolly theatrics used to present the chateaubriand tableside, but what was most impressive to us was the vegan celery from Kirchdorf with regional apples. Not only was it gorgeous, but it was also delicious! Wines were primarily Swiss, including a regional wine from Spiezer Winery in Spiez.
Don’t miss the tableside Crepes Suzette for dessert, which are topped with a fresh scoop of vanilla ice cream scooped from a silver bucket.
