Located on the Old Port of Saint-Tropez, La Petit Plage combines the best of Paris with the best of the beach. With a menu signed by renowned chef Eric Frechon (recently retired from his position at the head of Le Bristol’s three-star restaurant), the cuisine is refined and elegant while fitting nicely into its sunny, summery environment.
La Petit Plage is not hard to find — just follow the road around the Old Port past Senequier almost to the end and you can’t miss this chic spot with its open front and sand floors. That’s right — Saint-Tropez proper doesn’t have excellent beaches but the team at La Petit Plage brings the beach club to you with its sandy floors, beach vibe, and party-like atmosphere.

What sets La Petit Plage apart from a lot of the other restaurants in Saint-Tropez is the menu, which was conceived thoughtfully by a renowned chef and perfectly executed. We especially enjoyed the melon and tomato carpaccio, an elegantly simple dish that was so refreshing on a hot day. The pan fried squid with chorizo, crispy large prawns with tandoori sauce, and spicy lobster linguine were also highlights. As we observed food coming out of the kitchen, it became obvious that the burger was a must-try. Served under a glass dome filled with smoke, it was truly exceptional.

Finally, the frozen Menton lemon is a must! A real, hollowed out lemon filled with lemon sorbet — its the perfect refreshing treat to enjoy while watching all the activity of the port.
