One of the bars in Milan that we were most excited to try is the bar at the Bulgari Hotel. We stopped in for a pre-dinner aperitivo before heading over to DeRos. If you’re visiting Milan, this spot is not to be missed. It’s a place to see and be seen.
The Bulgari Hotel is located on a private street in a renovated palace, next to the Brera botanical gardens. The bar serves cocktails in an indoor-outdoor setting, and of course the people watching is incredible. You’re also likely to see an impressive collection of cars in the driveway. We were especially admiring a pair of white Ferraris.
The cocktail list is categorized by Classics, Martinis, Bulgari Bar Specials, and Overseas Cocktails (mostly classic American cocktails e.g., Corpse Reviver, Mint Julep, etc.). Of course, we wanted to try one of the Bulgari specials, so we ordered the Bulgari (Gin, Aperol, orange, pineapple, and lime). The presentation of the cocktails is stunning (that glassware!) and the cocktails come with a tower of savory bites.
The Bulgari Hotel is high on our list of hotels for future visits. The location is close to great shopping and restaurants, and we loved the interior design. The decor is modern yet rich, featuring sleek black marble from Zimbabwe and stone from Vicenza and Afyon, paired with teak and oak. The florals throughout the property are stunning as well.
Apertifs are served from 6:30 to 9pm every day of the week.
