We like to start with thick-cut bacon. We baked it in the oven at 400°F on a cooling rack placed inside of a sheet pan so that it wouldn’t sit in the grease. If you wanted to step it up, you could even brush the bacon with maple syrup. We usually cook it for about 15 minutes or until crispy.
Top a plate with a few paper towels. Remove the bacon from the sheet pan and lay it on top of the plate. Add a few extra paper towels on top to soak up extra grease.
You can also cook your bacon on the stove-top in a skillet, but we like to use this method when we don’t want to splatter grease on our kitchen floor or need to make a big batch at once. We like to use our crispy bacon on luxurious BLTs or chopped up on top of a steakhouse-style wedge salad.
