We recently created a blackberry shrub cocktail that needed a name, so we took to Instagram to ask our readers for suggestions. After careful consideration, we are proud to introduce The Spring Teaser! Congratulations to @kbpar for naming our new cocktail and thank you to all of our Instagram followers for their great name suggestions. Let us know if you’d like us to do more contests in the future.
Our friends Kelly and Ty gave us some amazing blackberry shrub from Fat Pilgrim in Sonoma for Christmas this year. Since berries are not quite in season (we tried them at the market this morning and they are just not there yet….almost!), shrub is a great way to introduce spring flavors to your favorite cocktails right now.
You can find blackberry shrub from INNA shrub or we found this set that includes blackberry, strawberry basil, and raspberry, which would all be delicious variations. We ordered the rest of our ingredients from Bi-Rite Market using Instacart (c/o). It’s fantastic and simple to use when you’re running low on time or busy trying to get ready for a party.
We served our cocktails on crushed ice and in double old-fashioned glasses designed by Paola Navone. We purchased them several years ago when we visited the original Neiman Marcus store in Dallas, Texas. We found these glasses that reminded us of them here, here, and here.
