Everyone told us that Farm & Table was the go-to restaurant for special occasions in Albuquerque. It’s just down the street from the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, so it made for the perfect place to escape the crowds of the Fiesta Balloon Glow that evening and taste some of their locally-sourced dishes. We arrived a little early, so the hostess welcomed us to sit on the patio and order a glass of wine while we waited. The weather in Albuquerque was really beautiful, so we requested a table outside on the patio that was lit with twinkle lights and the stars above.
The menu is seasonal, and on the evening we were there, we decided to try the grilled artichoke hearts with house-made ciabatta, garlic and goat cheese. The ciabatta was fantastic and we loved the flavors. That was followed by the always simple and classic caprese salad with tomatoes from the garden and hand pulled mozzarella. We split the ribeye for two with russet mashed potatoes, smoked beet puree, and Bordelaise sauce. It’s hard to say no to a good Bordelaise sauce!
We finished off the evening with pumpkin creme brûlée. It was the perfect way to top off the night, and by the time dinner was over, the traffic had died down and it made the perfect low-stress end to our Balloon Glow evening.
