We recently came across this Honeyed Old Fashioned cocktail from Women & Whiskies. They offer all kinds of fantastic resources to learn more about whiskies. We love a traditional Old Fashioned (and our Autumn Old Fashioned), so we were eager to give this one a try. Sarah’s parents sent us some local honey made by their neighbor’s bees, so we used it to make the honey syrup.
It’s a bright cocktail that might be good for a beginner whisky drinker since it’s lighter and sweeter than a traditional old fashioned. Glen Grant has a light caramel and vanilla taste with spices and and fruit. It goes perfectly with honey. To make the syrup, we heated water on the stove and added the honey to the hot water. Try it and let us know what you think!
