It’s super hot in the desert sun, so while we were exploring downtown Tucson, we decided to stop in for an Ice Cream to cool off. We first stopped into the HUB, but learned it’s a sit down restaurant. It has a cool modern look and the menu looked interesting, but they make their ice cream across the street in their creamery, HUB Ice Cream Factory.
We checked out the various ice cream flavors, and ended up choosing the Queen Bee, a honey-based ice cream with chocolate pieces. They always have at least 24 rotating flavors available. Come to find out, the flavor was developed in honor of local teenager Kelsey Taylor, who lost her battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in 2015. Proceeds benefit the Bald Beauties Project. A similar flavor was her favorite ice cream and she would always get it with hot fudge on top, so they added chocolate to the flavor. It was delicious, and it supports an amazing cause. If you’re looking for ice cream to walk around town with, be sure to stop in here.
