Located in the heart of Paris’s Rive Gauche, a few steps away from Le Bon Marché and Hotel Lutetia, is an incredible restaurant that celebrates fresh and local products in an unpretentious setting. With its red and white checkered floors, welcoming atmosphere and great wine list, this classical French restaurant stands out as a true gem among restaurants.

We were able to sample the menu on our recent visit here and were really impressed with the quality of food and the unique selections on the wine list. We started off with a bottle from the Savigny-Les-Beaune region of Burgundy, a less well known region of Burgundy that we personally love. It went perfectly with our squash soup with roasted mushrooms, as well as our main course — steak cooked to perfection and served with potatoes.

The pastry game is also strong, with a luxurious baba au rhum and a fresh financier featured on the dessert menu.
The wine list is extensive and there’s something for everyone to enjoy, at a wide range of price points, which makes it a good place to discover the world of French wines.
We were really impressed with Les Botanistes and highly recommend it if you’re looking for authentic French cuisine in an un-fussy and non-touristy setting.
