Last summer, we returned to one of our favorite hotels on the Amalfi Coast, the gorgeous Casa Angelina Lifestyle Hotel. Just across a small bay from the touristy town of Positano, this laid-back, whitewashed, adult-only resort is perched high on a cliff over the Mediterranean Sea in the small village of Praiano.
Casa Angelina is designed to feel like your home, so Chef Leopold Elefante set up the most perfect dining room in his brand-new Seascape Restaurant kitchen. What used to be a bar was recently transformed into an exclusive chef’s table experience centered around the hotel’s custom Molteni range. Chef Leopold and his team craft a custom three-course meal prepared tableside for guests who book this one-on-one chef experience.
Not only are the food and wine fantastic, but the setting is just as stylish. Seated at a large table with a Christofle egg in the center. You’ll have your own dedicated server, and of course, they’ll help choose the perfect pairings with the sommelier. We loved the experience so much. We did it twice and had two completely different menus. We highly recommend requesting local wine pairings as the wines of Campania are delicious and, in our opinion, under-represented in the international market.
One of our favorite dishes that we’ve recreated at home is Casa Angelina’s tomato risotto with burrata and lemon. This simple regional recipe was love at first taste! It’s fresh and summery yet decadent when topped with creamy burrata. Click here for the recipe. You’ll want to put this on your list of things to make when the weather warms up!
