It’s not every day that you stumble upon a true Parisian hideaway, but when you do, it’s worth a stop! This is an unassuming and rather rustic bistro located along the bank of the Seine River that serves up classic French fare and a selection of modest yet nice wines. From œufs mayonnaise and salade de chèvre chaud (warm goat cheese salad) to steak frites and platters of cochonnaille (mixed pork sausage and charcuterie), you’ll be dying to sample all their delicious traditional dishes—all of which are made in house (less common than you might assume in Parisian casual restaurants).

There’s nothing touristy about Le Trumilou—just really good, hearty classic French food. The atmosphere is relaxed yet vibrant, with friendly wait staff continuously going back and forth from the kitchen to serve up classic French dishes just across the Sein from Notre Dame. With ample sidewalk seating, it’s a great spot to soak in the views and people-watch all afternoon.
