Trattoria Da Teo is a rustic restaurant hidden in Trastevere. Located next to the more well-known Da Enzo, Trattoria Da Teo focuses more on seafood — not just the typical Roman pastas. You can get those of course, and I’m sure they’d be fabulous, but what had us coming back to Da Teo was the delicious food like the puntarella and burrata (not on the menu), the seafood, the amazing servers whose recommendations were spot on, and the reasonable prices. Our waiter was so good he told us, “that’s good, but this is better” numerous times. I like that! Not an upseller, just someone who wants you to eat the best!
In the spring, we highly recommend ordering the following dishes at Trattoria Da Teo in Trastevere. Honestly, we think you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu here.
Puntarella and Buratta with Sardinian crackers (not on the menu)
Gamberi in tempura (shrimp tempura)
Fiore di zucca (fried zucchini flowers)
Calamari con carciofi (calamari with artichokes)
Cartoccio di pesce al forno con aromi (Baked orata, shrimp, mussels, and clams)
Pasta with wild asparagus (not on the menu)
Gnocchi with Ragu with Wild Boar (only on Thursdays)
Tiramisu or mousse al mascarpone con fragoline for dessert with an espresso
We didn’t order this but we saw it and would go back for it:
Spaghetti allo scoglio (spaghetti from the rocks)
Fried Lamb chops (not on the menu)
