Dinner at Rossellinis is a must in Ravello. Chef Michele Deleo and Restaurant Manager Stefano Amato are taking dinner at this Michelin starred restaurant in the Amalfi Coast to the next level. We visited several years ago and had a lovely time, but on our recent visit we were blown away by this amazing dining experience. It was one of the most memorable of our two weeks in Italy.
We fell in love with the amuse-bouche, which as Stefano described, was like a puzzle. Plated atop a game board of sorts, it included delicacies like saffron escargot, a macaron filled with pâté, and our personal favorite, a chilled gelatin tomato with a Bloody Mary filling. The board even included a refreshing taste of their signature Avino spritz!
The Red Mullet was one of the most beautiful dishes we tasted, with the tail of the fish wrapped meticulously in paper-thin strips of eggplant. A perfectly cooked lobster tail and claw, served with a spoon-shaped crisp was equally impressive.
Another (very rich) highlight was Acquerello risotto cooked with yellow tomatoes, Fior di Latte cheese from Agerola, Amalfitan lemon compote, and raw fish. We especially enjoyed the hand-picked regional wine pairings, which ranged from Amalfi Coast classics like Marisa Cuomo’s Fiorduva to up-and-coming small producers in Lazio.
Rabbit is not a staple ingredient in our house, but it is in Italy. The ravioli stuffed with wild rabbit, served on Pecorino cream fondant and topped with black truffle, was a highlight of our dining experience.
The main courses, gorgeously plated, were both incredible. For our tasting menu, Stefano selected the sea bass and the suckling pig served three ways. The food was delicious as it was beautiful, and the service was impeccable. Rossellinis is only open for dinner.
The Amalfi Coast is small, so even if you’re not staying in Ravello or Palazzo Avino, Rossellinis can be reached from any major town along the coast. It’s well worth the trip. We can’t wait to visit again to experience their amazing cuisine and evolving menu as the seasons change. Also, in case you are deciding between the two, you can order any of the amazing martinis from the Lobster & Martini Bar as an apertivo at Rossellinis. Just ask for the martini list.
Thank you to Rossellinis for sponsoring this post.
