If you're looking for the best butcher shop in San Francisco, look no further than Olivier's Butchery. Who doesn't want to go to a French butchery? This is our hands-down, all-time favorite, go-to butcher for everything including sausage, bacon burgers, hand-cut steaks, and brick chicken. Oliver's even carries our favorite eggs. You know that whatever you get at the butcher will be fresh and the best quality you can find. If you're unsure of how to cook it, just ask.
French butcher, Olivier Cordier, is from Burgundy and comes from a long line of butchers. He not only brings you the finest meat in San Francisco, but provides options that you won't find outside of his shop that are ready to cook for a weeknight meal or a special weekend treat. Try his pork roti stuffed with prunes, a marinated hanger steak, or the porchetta. We've bought both the pre-stuffed porchetta and made our own with pork from Olivier's butcher shop.
If you time it right, you may be able to find Japanese Wagyu beef or foie gras. You'll find the best aged steaks in San Francisco, everything from 21- to 100- days. The faux filet (New York) and Cote de Boeuf (bone-in Ribeye) are our top picks. You can often place special orders We recommend stopping in before the weekend, because by the time you arrive on Sunday they may be sold out of what you're looking for.
This San Francisco butcher shop is located in the Dogpatch and is currently closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
