Fresh guacamole is one of our favorite foods and, along with hummus, one of our go-tos for lunch or a snack. It’s also perfect for people to enjoy at your cookout this summer. Pair it with margaritas, elderflower lemonade, or these watermelon cocktails.
Fresh avocados make all the difference. No pre-made guacamole can compare to your own fresh batch. Once you make this, you’ll never want to buy it again. For a shortcut, you can keep these handy and use this or this.
To make fresh guacamole, you’ll just need to mince a quarter of a red onion (finely diced similar to the shallots here), lime juice, cilantro, avocados, and a hot pepper. We seasoned ours with a sprinkle of Maldon sea salt.
To make the guacamole, we simply added all of the ingredients to a large bowl and mashed it until some of the avocados were broken up with a small spatula. You could also use one of these. It could not be simpler. This was so good we ate it for dinner! It looked especially pretty in our Heath Ceramics bowls (similar here, here, and here).
