Fresh guacamole is one of our favorite foods and, along with hummus, one of our go-tos for lunch or a snack. It's also perfect for people to enjoy at your cookout this summer. Pair it with margaritas, elderflower lemonade, or these watermelon cocktails.
Fresh avocados make all the difference. No pre-made guacamole can compare to your own fresh batch. Once you make this, you'll never want to buy it again. For a shortcut, you can keep these handy and use this or this.
To make fresh guacamole, you'll just need to mince a quarter of a red onion (finely diced similar to the shallots here), lime juice, cilantro, avocados, and a hot pepper. We seasoned ours with a sprinkle of Maldon sea salt.
To make the guacamole, we simply added all of the ingredients to a large bowl and mashed it until some of the avocados were broken up with a small spatula. It could not be simpler. This was so good we ate it for dinner! It looked especially pretty in our Heath Ceramics bowls.
